This is for people who ask me why I cycle to the other end of town to catch the bus to work, in stead of going to the busstation. From today's newspaper:

This is the citybus that students try to get on to go to one of the many schools in town. It's similar to the amount of students that get on 'my' bus that also leaves from the busstation. By the time it reaches the busstop I cycle to (about ten-fifteen minutes later), it has passed all the schools and offices in town and dropped off that huge load of passengers (including the bunch of baby-soldiers that go to the army-training facility near 'my' busstop) and I can actually sit down for the ride out of town to the small village where I work. Ha.

Roadworks are forcing me to cycle an alternative route to my bus. My 'own' busstop is closed and I now have to catch my bus one stop further. Since the roadworks also delay the bus coming from the station, for now I'm not leaving the house any earlier. One busdriver said this situation will likely be in effect until June 2012 (two thousand TWELVE). Jeebus.

It may seem like there is a more direct path next to the highway, but as far as I can tell that's for pedestrians. So I'm cycling in a curve back to my neighbourhood. It's a nice bit of nature actually.

Name of my alternative busstop translates to 'Happiness'. Yeah. Not so much.

Another gorgeous sunset (well almost anyway;)

Dedemsvaart, around 17:15 (5.15 pm)

And another fun fuck up in the bus:

No destination, but a message that the bus is replacing a train. (There are no tracks anywhere close to my route) Apparently the driver can not access the system to correct this information. Such a marvelous organisation.
