LONDON, day 2
Tuesday, December 14 - 2010

Yay, English breakfast, so disgustingly delicious; we call baked beans in tomato-sauce 'dinner', but whatever. Omnomnom.

... beautiful loos, ... beautiful events.

Well, I thought it was funny.

Started my day with a visit to Harrods; I hadn't been there in a while and I wanted to see the Christmas-department.

The windows were beautifully dressed up and got me in the holiday-spirit;)

Not to mention all the displays in the escalator-sections.

Not Christmas, but very cool; the food-court.
I left Harrods with bags full of goodies (mostly eatables;)

Walked around the Knightbridge area a bit.

The award for most akward window-display goes to Harvey Nichols; what the hell was that all about?

I took the tube back to Leicester Square, bought a ticket at Odeon, and had lunch at Pret a Manger:) (Also did some shopping at boots before the film)

Then I went to see Harry Potter. I wanted to see it again in London without subtitles, but as it turned out I picked the one showing in the week when they put hard-of-hearing subtitles on. Oh well, those are not as distracting as the Dutch translations with all the different names for the characters (not a normal practice by the way, but since the books were initially for kids, they translated the names of some of the teachers and classmates. At least Harry is still called Harry, pfew).
Oh and also: there were six of us in the auditorium; four singles and a couple. Guess who had a seat right next to the people that wanted to talk to each other during the film?
Good thing I had already seen it before. I still managed to focus on the film. *clutches heart* So much love.

After the film I went straight back to the hotel. I did mention how I loved the graphic designs on the Underground, right? *chinhands*

Unloaded all my shopping and freshened up for concert.

Another beautiful sunset from hotelwindow.

Underground to the O2 arena; I had to change trains halfway and it took me about an hour to get there.

O2 Arena. It's so BIG!

Gorgeous lighting in front of entrance (scroll down for changing colours)

The arena! I'm in section B1. As long as people sat down, it was a perfect seat :)

Had time for dinner (7.50 cheeseburger and chips, worth it;).
Bought loads of merchandise, including a Canvas Bag, of course. (check out this Tim-vid for relevance;)

Ladies and gentlemen: the marvelous Tim Minchin! I had expected him to perform a sort of best of show, playing in an arena, but he sang loads of new songs! Brilliant lyrics as usual and I am very glad I bought a live CD of this show, so I can listen to them at home (and learn:). I was thrilled he also played my favorite ballad Not Perfect.

It was awesome. (And people only stood up for the final round of applause, so I could see and hear Tim perfectly all night:)

Bye, O2 arena, thanks for the great evening:)

LOOT! I am now the proud owner of a Rock 'n' Roll Nerd hoodie \m/

Bathtime!

Gingerbread bubble bath + book 2 of Nightrunner series = Heaven. I read until the water ran cold. *happy sighs*
