Woohoo, apparently mom can go online now. According to a comment 'Anonymous' left at my cotw and at Hans' weblog her computer is able to use the cable (heh, made it rhyme:) Now we only have to convince mom to go surfing and to use msn... We are building a religion;-)

Hmmm, I finally figured out why I really like to see CSI-Nick with his glasses on: the first guy I had a major crush on in highschool had glasses, so I guess it brings back sweet memories:-) Weird that I didn't make the connection earlier, they also share the same name... (repressing much, 'cause the memories may be sweet now, it really was hell back then, unrequited love is a bitch;-)

The lamp-experiment...

A few weeks ago the Ikea-lamp in the bedroom started to crack and I had to break the glass to prevent it from falling on my head while I was sleeping. After some creative thinking I came up with the idea to use the front of a clock to replace the original glass and it worked!

I've been spending a lot of time reading pornographic totally innocent CSI-fanfiction that I discovered in some so called 'live-journal'-communities. Some weeks ago I finally had the courage to post a comment, but really hated to be known as 'Anonymous' so decided to start a lj of my own.

Woohoo, noticed just in time that 'As If' is on again: every Saturday AND Sunday-afternoon. Great series from the UK (2001) about six teenagers (17 and up) in London. Each episode lets one of them talk about their week. Good stuff...

FYI: *Before 2001 the age of consent in England for homosexuals was 18, while it was 16 for heterosexuals. (Lesbians were not mentioned in law...) Now it's 18 for all preferences. More information about critical ages around the world can be found here!

Recorded Manhunter (1986) because of William L. Petersen and rather enjoyed watching a younger version of CSI-Gil Grissom: nice legs:-) even though I didn't really care for Mr. Mann's style: very slow. Managed to fall asleep despite the loud music and intens performances by all involved btw, but finished it the next morning. And a good thing I did watch it until the end, or I would have missed this spectacular bit of translating.

You can blame Oscar: I really was gonna work on this log, but then he shows up unanounced for a surprise-visit and we hadn't seen eachother in over a year, so I hope I'm forgiven for totally forgetting about this digital diary? Am updating my movie-blog (bios) and figured I might as well type something here:) Gonna start my (re)watch of CSI Season 3 on the big screen after this. Did see the two last episodes from Season 5 yesterday (fyi one aired last week en the other one was on last thursday in the US) Didn't care much for the character-episode about Brass and was happy to see a return to the case-based story on episode 21 (Committed), but am desperatly hoping for more team-members to join the last couple of episodes. (fyi put a link to some fascinating CSI-fanfiction on my original blog: cio if you want to know 'what makes the desert beautiful'*)

I also spent some time in the real world this weekend: did two loads of laundry today and managed to make a very professional movie-screen roll-up system in the attic yesterday. Now the enormous space is not only fit to watch movies, but I also created a great place to party with all my friends. (oops, that was another part of virtual life that slipped in there;)

oh well, I like both my pathetic lifes;-)

Okay, so I didn't translate my COTW-blog in a while, let me summarize the past few days weeks months: 'Work busy, stupid clients, blah-blah-blah', 'My own attic-movie-theatre CSI -Season2, CSI-Season5, CSI-Season1 and continuing CSI-Season2...', 'Computer Fanfiction: CSI, Nick & Greg, CSI, Nick & Greg, CSI'....
And that's about it (did I mention I kind of became addicted to CSI?) *g*
Anyway, what I meant to say: you didn't miss much if you're not able to read the dutch babbling on the original blog;-)
So in March I went to Londen and saw Joshua Jackson & Patrick Stewart in a play together on Friday, went shopping, to a movie and another play with Kevin Spacey (plus Steven Weber and Mary Stuart Masterson) on Saturday and then back home after hanging out in Camden on Sunday, but that's nothing special, right? <trying to keep a straight face> Bwoohahaha: that was -like- my best weekend EVER! Even though the play with Kevin seemed to be a horrid little comedy act at the start, of course it turned out to be a heartwrenching story with a very emotional ending. He It was great!
And guess what: I will be going to another Spacey-play in London this June. Not promissing to blog about it here, 'cause we all know how much time I spend translating (...), but feel free to ask about it in a mail or comment;-)

Let's get the babbling over with first and mention that I figured out what episode of CSI Season 4 the Powers That Be On TV showed before they started reruns here. It was the final, which means that I was allowed (by myself of course) to watch my downloaded Season 5 episodes, woohoo. (told ya my life was interesting;) Have seen 7 now and preparing myself mentally for 'Ch-ch-changes'...
Computerstuff: Hans came by to help me with some minor sound-problems and was able to fix them in about fifteen minutes. So we had time to enjoy two episodes of Buffy upstairs before he had to leave for a party (students tsss...)
Workwise I'm doing fine, the workload is picking up again and I'm getting used to the new system. The new printer that was installed last week didn't cause any trouble at all, so I'm a happy workerbee:)
Went to Amsterdam yesterday to watch some more movies (in my town they only release family-films and blockbusters) and get ready for the Academy Awards next weekend. (I'm taking the day after off, so I can watch the broadcast on the bbc, hopefully;) Reviews are as usual on my bioslog (or will be there as soon as I thought about them;)
I did some work on my own cinema as well. I was able to connect the tv-cable from downstairs through to the attic, so now I can watch tv up there as well. I'm looking forward to see the Oscars from the comfortable seats:)
This afternoon I'm hoping to upgrade my DivX-DVD player, but am quite anxious to do it, 'cause apparently I can lock the whole machine if I do something wrong.... Scary stuff children.

UPDATE! (14 days of interesting adventures all rolled into one post;)
The most exciting event in the past two weeks was the switch at work from Mac System 9 tot OS-X. I'm not too fond of change and didn't really like getting used to all the new programs :-( but at least Erhard made an effort to reduce the amount of stress (for me;) to a minimum. This time he didn't just upgrade my computer over the weekend to surprise me on a monday, but he actually asked me how I wanted to handle this operation! So instead of installing the new system on all computers at once, I get plenty of time to figure everything out on my computer first, before we modernize everyone else's. And it turns out I'm not doing too badly actually... sure, I'm still fighting a battle with the fonts-library and the major change in shortcut-keys, but when I get really frustrated at least I can move to an 'old' computer to do some actual work and relax;-)
Speaking of relaxing: at home I'm finally learning to make time to watch Buffy on the big screen upstairs. Last week I (re)watched the Season 1-final and I didn't think another episode could move me more, but I started Season 2 yesterday and -wow- that's the best so far:-D.
More DVD-fun: I'm also watching Seinfeld in order and with extra's. I'm getting near the end of Season 2 now and it's just getting better and better:) Have to mention here how much Jason Alexander (George) reminds me of Mike C.: the way he tells the behind-the-scenes stories and how he laughs while he's remembering certain situations is really bringing back memories. Must be the beard;-) [hi Mike;o)]
Besides Buffy and Seinfeld I got a brand new and exciting obsession. I mentioned it before, but for the sake of this update I have to write it down again *g*: it's CSI, the original series, not the spin-offs. I've been reading a lot of (slash) fanfictionstories online (oh boy) and found some good musicvids out there as well. Yesterday I sneaked a peek at the first episode of Season Five on my computer. (nothing but reruns of S2 and 3 on tv here, hope they catch up with where-ever they stopped S4 soon) and -like a lot of fans- was a bit shocked by Nick's new haircut;-) Too bad I want to watch the show in the proper order and still haven't figured out what episode I saw last:-( But I can be patient and in the mean time I have all this funstuff online to keep my mind off the lack of hair;-)
I'll stop babbling now and finish this update with some movie-rants (aren't you glad I don't post here regularly, imagine what it would be like to have to read about this every day;)
Yesterday I went to see the Aviator... and didn't really care about it that much. Sure as hell didn't understand why it received 11 Oscarnominations, especially since my favorite films, actors and directors are not even on the list (Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Bad Education, Jim Carrey, Gael Garcia Bernal, Gondry and Almodovar to mention but a few names that should've been at least nominated, grumble) Hopefully the Bafta's will put this injustice right!
I discovered I didn't watch as many movies in 2004 as I did in the year(s) before and it looks like 2005 might even be worse. Did start to invite people to my home-cinema and maybe that will make up for the lack of good movies released. So far only showed movies I'd allready seen, but hope to be able to watch some new stuff upstairs soon. Well, new for me anyway, 'cause apparently there are some films out there that I haven't seen before.... I'll keep you posted! (every once in a while at least;-)

Not a very eventful week, so I didn't bother translating my blog every day. FYI: (TMI?) I've been having these 'attacks' of nausea for the past two weeks. After pms I went straight into 'm' and I'm still not feeling great:-( Hopefully my body and I will be over it next week... Enough about me, more about my computer; it's been working very well! Finally got Shareaza to work properly, I have to find the best links myself, but once the program makes the connection it's downloadheaven:) Started to build a csi-collection (I know I promised in my COTW that I wouldn't use that abbreviation again, but this is a different log, right?;) since the tv-channel that's airing the show here is only doin' reruns atm and I really want to see some new stuff.
While my 'puter was getting the desired episode, I spent my weekend cleaning up the remaining Christmas-decorations (yes, I know) and doing the dishes while preparing food for the rest of the week (to save time after work;) Tonight I was planning on watching Buffy upstairs, but decided to stay in front of the tv for one movie I'd al ready seen two times and one I didn't know. (Iron Will 'cause of Mr. Spacey and 'Blown Away' with Jeff Bridges and Tommy Lee Jones, which was a bomb.... meaning here ' not very appealing';) What a rubbish end of a not very bad day, sigh.
I think I might go to bed now with Book Five of Lemony Snicket...
