UPDATE! (14 days of interesting adventures all rolled into one post;)
The most exciting event in the past two weeks was the switch at work from Mac System 9 tot OS-X. I'm not too fond of change and didn't really like getting used to all the new programs :-( but at least Erhard made an effort to reduce the amount of stress (for me;) to a minimum. This time he didn't just upgrade my computer over the weekend to surprise me on a monday, but he actually asked me how I wanted to handle this operation! So instead of installing the new system on all computers at once, I get plenty of time to figure everything out on my computer first, before we modernize everyone else's. And it turns out I'm not doing too badly actually... sure, I'm still fighting a battle with the fonts-library and the major change in shortcut-keys, but when I get really frustrated at least I can move to an 'old' computer to do some actual work and relax;-)
Speaking of relaxing: at home I'm finally learning to make time to watch Buffy on the big screen upstairs. Last week I (re)watched the Season 1-final and I didn't think another episode could move me more, but I started Season 2 yesterday and -wow- that's the best so far:-D.
More DVD-fun: I'm also watching Seinfeld in order and with extra's. I'm getting near the end of Season 2 now and it's just getting better and better:) Have to mention here how much Jason Alexander (George) reminds me of Mike C.: the way he tells the behind-the-scenes stories and how he laughs while he's remembering certain situations is really bringing back memories. Must be the beard;-) [hi Mike;o)]
Besides Buffy and Seinfeld I got a brand new and exciting obsession. I mentioned it before, but for the sake of this update I have to write it down again *g*: it's CSI, the original series, not the spin-offs. I've been reading a lot of (slash) fanfictionstories online (oh boy) and found some good musicvids out there as well. Yesterday I sneaked a peek at the first episode of Season Five on my computer. (nothing but reruns of S2 and 3 on tv here, hope they catch up with where-ever they stopped S4 soon) and -like a lot of fans- was a bit shocked by Nick's new haircut;-) Too bad I want to watch the show in the proper order and still haven't figured out what episode I saw last:-( But I can be patient and in the mean time I have all this funstuff online to keep my mind off the lack of hair;-)
I'll stop babbling now and finish this update with some movie-rants (aren't you glad I don't post here regularly, imagine what it would be like to have to read about this every day;)
Yesterday I went to see the Aviator... and didn't really care about it that much. Sure as hell didn't understand why it received 11 Oscarnominations, especially since my favorite films, actors and directors are not even on the list (Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Bad Education, Jim Carrey, Gael Garcia Bernal, Gondry and Almodovar to mention but a few names that should've been at least nominated, grumble) Hopefully the Bafta's will put this injustice right!
I discovered I didn't watch as many movies in 2004 as I did in the year(s) before and it looks like 2005 might even be worse. Did start to invite people to my home-cinema and maybe that will make up for the lack of good movies released. So far only showed movies I'd allready seen, but hope to be able to watch some new stuff upstairs soon. Well, new for me anyway, 'cause apparently there are some films out there that I haven't seen before.... I'll keep you posted! (every once in a while at least;-)

Not a very eventful week, so I didn't bother translating my blog every day. FYI: (TMI?) I've been having these 'attacks' of nausea for the past two weeks. After pms I went straight into 'm' and I'm still not feeling great:-( Hopefully my body and I will be over it next week... Enough about me, more about my computer; it's been working very well! Finally got Shareaza to work properly, I have to find the best links myself, but once the program makes the connection it's downloadheaven:) Started to build a csi-collection (I know I promised in my COTW that I wouldn't use that abbreviation again, but this is a different log, right?;) since the tv-channel that's airing the show here is only doin' reruns atm and I really want to see some new stuff.
While my 'puter was getting the desired episode, I spent my weekend cleaning up the remaining Christmas-decorations (yes, I know) and doing the dishes while preparing food for the rest of the week (to save time after work;) Tonight I was planning on watching Buffy upstairs, but decided to stay in front of the tv for one movie I'd al ready seen two times and one I didn't know. (Iron Will 'cause of Mr. Spacey and 'Blown Away' with Jeff Bridges and Tommy Lee Jones, which was a bomb.... meaning here ' not very appealing';) What a rubbish end of a not very bad day, sigh.
I think I might go to bed now with Book Five of Lemony Snicket...

Lazy sunday afternoon.... got up around twelve, just in time to watch the Sunday politics program. Not that I'm very interested in politicians, but I like the guy that does the opinionpiece every other week;)
Ordered trainticket for my theater-trip to London on March 19 and did some research for accomodation around that time, but haven't decided on a hostel yet. Plenty of time;)
Drilled some holes in my tv-cabinet, to neatly hide the cables from the vcr/dvd-player and hooked up my new printer (fyi a deskjet 600 instead of my officejet 700, not as fancy, but at least this one prints properly and it was a gift;)
Also copied my backup-cd's with mp3's to my hard disk. Now I can use my computer for backgroundmusic again:) And finally installed some new software and updated my log.
Around seven I took a shower (about time;) and finished my pyjama-day fully dressed with a hot meal and Seinfeld. For dessert I watched two Buffy episodes in my attic-cinema. Went to bed ridiculously early around 11.30...

Not a very active day: I really enjoyed the weekend;) Did do some tasks around the house today: wash dishes, recycle glass, clean staircase and entrance (every neighbor has to do this every six weeks), but mostly had a lot of fun:
Went to see Lemony Snicket in the afternoon (after finishing book 3) and had some time to stroll along the market before that (bought a new pocketwatch:) Loved the film btw (zie bioslog)!
Spent night in front of tv (CSI) and computer (mail and CSI;0). Went to bed really really late, it was after three...

Another fairly normal day, was a little late for work, 'cause on the way I made a stop in the cardshop and got a bit carried away;) Had a lot to do the rest of the day and decided to take a later bus, so I could go hunt the shops for an orange wastepaperbasket mum wants for her bathroom. Didn't find it of course, so I had to compensate and bought a lot of tasty stuff instead;) (didn't want to go home empty-handed;) Got sick on the bus, after eating a couple (or more) of 'fantasy'(=fake) chocolates, but at home I calmed my stomach down by filling it up with a lot of warm meatballs (small sized, don't worry;). I felt a lot better:-)
Spent the evening in front of the tv and reading on the computer (found a very interesting CSI fanfiction-site this week... don't ask;)

Okay.... yesterday, when I said I was gonna watch some DVD's, I lied! Instead I took a long shower and went to bed: I can be such a grown-up sometimes;)
But tonight after eating a very sensible warm meal (6 vegetables-mash with bratwurst;) I did sit down for my dose of Seinfeld. It really never gets boring, I could watch these episodes a million times and they would still make me laugh:)
Halfway through the fourth episode mum popped in* to tell me all about her afternoon with my grandparents, who came to admire her new appartment. Of course I made her sit down and watch the rest of Seinfeld, before I would listen;-) (I was very nice, even turned on the subtitles for her;)
A great evening at the end of a pretty average day.

Finally finished my long weblog-entry in my 'normal' log, so it's time to update this corner of my world;)
Work is slowly building up. These past few weeks with Xmas and NewYears have been unusually quiet. For the first time in a year I had time to clean up our archives and it has been over seven years since I spent more than 2 days between all those old files. I got a little nostalgic between the folders and found it to be very relaxing to not sit in front of a computer all day;)
A very good thing, since the days before the Holiday-season were very busy and stessfull. Not only because of the workload, but also thanks to the annoying changes in the bussystem, that forced me to make a lot of phonecalls to buscompanies and other 'authorities'. I do not want to get into that again, I've just been writing it all down in Dutch and that was depressing enough, so here I'll just type that I finally got my new buspass today and will be able to show the hilarious picture to busdrivers from tomorrow...;)

I started a new work-out schedule tonight, got a little bored with the old exercises and machines, after two years of using more and more weights and repetitions it was time for a new challenge:) Tried the rowing-machine again, which was a little intimidating after my first experience about 3 years ago. The idiot-substitute trainer didn't give any instructions then and I hurt my weak back after only two strokes. Have been avoiding the machine ever since. But now my back is stong enough to try it again, so I told Carolien to write it down on my new schedule:)
I did kind of okay, still a bit wobbly, but I'm sure I will be much better next time (and the week after that and the weeks after that;)

More big news: I'm learning to handle my regular dvd-player! (as opposed to the one on my computer, that I figured out a long time ago;) Thanks to the Seinfeld Series 1-3 my mum and her boyfriend got me for my birthday I'm starting to get used to actually using the video/dvd combination for more than just recording (which reminds me: forgot to tape 'De Band' tonight, grumble) and am discovering more and more useful buttons, woohoo.
Also managed to make my DVD/DivX player work for all regions, so in my Attic-turned-Cinema I'm able to watch discs from all over the world:-)

Enough with the log, I'm gonna play with my DVD-collection!

Yes, my computer is working again and I almost figured out all the new stuff and programs that are on it now. Updated my movielog (BeeLikeJ's Bios) and will definatly start this blog again soon;)

It's not that I don't have anything to bitch about (HA) but I'm having computertroubles at home.
So this is a short message from the workplace to let everyone know I'm not able to blog for a while :-(

Updated my bioslog and my COTW and now my fingers are frozen, 'cause I forgot to turn the central heating on after I got home from my work-out session tonight :-(.
Not only my hands are cold, the rest of my body is also begging me to stop typing, so no news here, sorry.

It's not that I don't want to keep this log up to date, honest, I've just been very busy the past couple of weeks with my mom's move and work. I didn't even update my movielog! But mom is settling in her new appartment now and at the end of the week I will have finished the worst part of the Christmasnewspaper at work, so hopefully I will be able to write more soon...

To quote one of the great singers of our time (and I'm being sarcastic here;) 'Oops I did it again'. But this time not writing this blog, really wasn't by choice. I was so busy at work (hey I even had to work both Saturday AND Sunday last weekend) that I really was too tired to update al my blogs. I only just finished writing down the past few days in my regular weblog, so al my digital diaries suffered lack of attention this week;)
Anyway, here's what happened the past couple of days.
Work was crazy, but I did manage to create order out of chaos at the end of the week. Even though I had to do a lot of work on the weddingproject for Cris (our printer got married with Linda yesterday) I still got to finish a lot of workorders as well. Yesterday I did have to catch a bus before I could see the final result of the fake Playboy we created for the weddingparty, but it looked great on my computerscreen;)
Mom was away most of the nights (and some of the days as well, but I'm not home myself then, so that doesn't make any difference to me;) for work and visits to family and Jan (who wasn't able to work because of a painful knee that finally made him ask for medical attention...)
The work-out this week was filled with new and exciting stuff, including the dreaded 'good-morning' excercise that resulted in protesting legs for the rest of the week: ouch!
And even though we were only invited for the weddingparty at night, we all went to surprise Cris and Linda for the ceremonie Friday-afternoon. And even though I don't really care for marriage myself I have to admit they looked very nice and happy;) I didn't make it to the party by the way, Cris didn't expect me to come, because of the crowd, but in reality I couldn't go because of the lack of public transport to the remote location and because I decided after the last office-party that I woudn't go anywhere if I wasn't able to get there and back on my own (without having to wait for more or less drunk people or not intoxicated bad drivers in a car filled with drunks to take me home...)
Yesterday-evening last weekends working at home finally caught up with me: I was exhausted and had to go to bed before mom got home: I hit the pillow and fell straight asleep at 11.30 p.m. (that would be 23.30 on the clock:)

Finally I managed to create some order in the amount of work on my desk. I survived the last check of the yearbook for example and I also found some time to make a long awaited logo (fingers crossed that the client likes it...)
Because of the strike of employees of public transport tomorrow I had to make arrangements to get to Dedemsvaart. Erhard wants me to be able to work so bad that he offered to pick me up in the morning and luckily mom is around to drive me back home in the afternoon.
This morning I had a busdriver who isn't going to strike tomorrow, but he's not able to work, because apparently those who do strike tend to attack the busses. It's ironic that this guy did go to the big demonstration in Amsterdam 2 weeks ago (200.000 people protested against the government) and that most of his co-workers who will strike tomorrow didn't go there. Why were they not prepared to give up a day of work and travel to the capital while they don't seem to have any problem with spending the day in the cafetaria hanging around while ordinairy people and their employers lose time and money because of their strike? It's too easy and this time I really don't agree with their protest. And where can I get the money for the gas, time and waste of energy back?
My work-out this evening was great, despite the unexpected quiet arrival of 'that time of the month'. I spend my night hanging in front of the tv, we watched a lot of lousy programs with stupid people;)

I didn't think yesterday could be topped, but today it was even crazier at work; what a mess. Luckily I got through a couple of easy orders in the afternoon, that made a good impression on my planboard;)
For diner we had the steam-meals mum bought: the chicken and potatoes with rosemary were delicious, but I like my beans to be well done and steam kind of leaves them 'biteable'... But mom loved them, so she had a great big meal;)
Later we went to the arthouse, to get warm after a cold bike-ride and watch a movie (duh) It was an american one for a change: Shattered Glass.
Back at home we watched some tv and video and of course went to bed on a decent time again(?)

A new week, new chances, this time I'm really gonna update this blog every day, honest. See: this was today: a very chaotic monday, new orders were piling up on my desk, while I had to work on last-minute stuff, grr.
At home I found my refrigerator filled with off-price meals, that mum bought, even though we had agreed to empty out the freezer before buying any new groceries. And since I allready had taken meat out this morning we couldn't eat those new meals ... boy I really love living together....
After the delicious meal I cooked :-p we watched Sliders (rerun) and mom decided to come with me to the Sneakpreview. This time it wasn't really a mom-movie (unlike last weeks Wimbledon;) it even was suspiciously quiet in the cinema (most people check the internet for the suprise-title of the movie, I don't because then I might not go and usually I have a nice night out;), but we had an okay time.
At home my computer is acting up, which I hope is only temporary, 'cause I'm really not in the mood for trouble this week...
